Why did I become a Self-Care Coach?
Becoming an entrepreneur was a transformation rooted in my commitment to authenticity. The truth of my past experiences which shamed me, the truth of my rejections, the truth behind my forced smile. I got tired of existing and conforming to standards and norms that did not define me. It was not until I was vulnerable with my truth that my purpose for my life was revealed. I decided I was no longer content pretending my past experiences did not impact my decisions and my life’s journey. My mask reveal was done through the debut of my 2017 off-Broadway play – The Wounded Soul. I used the stage to educate the audience on domestic and sexual abuse, through the eyes of a survivor – me, it was my story. I revealed my inner thoughts and inner conflict. I exposed the external view of the internal voice. That is the backstory.
I came to understand that I matter and that self-love principles evolve around the principles of self-care. Despite having a MPA and a B.Sc, I also knew my self-development and outreach had to grow as well. I progressed from playwright, to speaker, to author, product developer, to being certified in Mental Health First Aid, and currently a certified Self Care Coach.
My mission is to emphasize the profound importance of prioritizing one’s well-being in every aspect of life. Self-care is not a luxury; it is a fundamental necessity for maintaining physical, mental, and emotional health – for teenagers to seasoned adults. Self-care involves recognizing and honoring our individual needs, setting boundaries, and cultivating habits that contribute to our overall well-being. In a world that often demands much of us, making intentional time for self-care becomes a revolutionary act of reclaiming our own peace and balance.
Self-care is not only about pampering oneself but also about fostering resilience, reducing stress, and enhancing overall life satisfaction. I encourage individuals to view self-care as a holistic practice that encompasses nourishing the mind, body, and spirit.
I believe that small, intentional acts of self-care can lead to profound improvements in one’s quality of life. Becoming a Self-Care Coach was a natural fit for me and therefore I am dedicated and committed to creating a space where individuals feel empowered to prioritize self-care without guilt or hesitation.
